ok i got everything setup but when i goto my web site and the music starts playing every gets super slow and firefox starts using 400+ megs of memory how do i fix this?

I like this player very much but Ive noticed everytime I tried to use it my cpu usuge in my taskbar monitor jumps up like crazy. There are alot of functions being used with xml. Maybe on the next version its possible to optimize some of them. But great design!

Dear Flabell,

i downloaded flabell-Flash-Mp3-Player that posted for free in flabell website.

I got some trouble to configure it like below:

-I loaded it as a content of another main flash page (have sound background) then i go back my main page the sound can't not comeback and the content still play the music (but only one).

-The scroll bar of content is go down too much.

also there is no proper tutorial for how we can provide external location of mp3 and images

The embed code problem is fixed now in the new AS3 version of the player. Please check the embed code from flabell.com and then download the new version.

To provide external mp3 files and images just fill in the xml with absolute paths.

I believe there might be a security issue with the software, in regards to being able to capture the audio stream through flabell's mp3 player. This might be quite discouraging for independent musicians trying to promote their music through the web, and having it capture-recorded instead.

I know myspace somewhat prevents stream capture mechanism, and it would be a great feature to have something similar inside flabelll mp3 plaer.

This is not a security issue. All Flash Mp3 players can be recorder, actually, any sound that's in your computer can be recorder with several software solutions.

The player is exactly what I want except I want to embed it into my website and use it like the player on myflashstore.net I will be using it for ecommerce which is limited as for is its design. I would pay for a player like the one from the site I just mentioned. It seems this one has that capabilty and much more if designed to be sold. It is really nice. please let me know if this one can be designed in any way to do that. That would be worth the support membership. If you can look at the other site's player to see what I mean. This is a beautfully crafted player, but i have issues trying to change its colors. i use dreamweaver to configure the xml but evrytime i change color it only changes everything to black, or is there a special software you used to configure xml. it does not change to specified colors.

Hey bobocel,
thanks for quick reply. I wasn't talking about directly "recording what you hear" through the player, but rather capturing the stream via various browser add-ons. For instance "Flash Video Resources Downloader" plugin for Firefox, captures everything (video, audio) that is being streamed through Flash. However the very same plugin can not detect and capture music streamed through myspace embedded flash players. Perhaps there's some secret feature inside the flash that can prevent stream capture?

I see what you mean. I guess we can't protect the sounds from that, unless some backend code is written for the player, which you can do your end.

I've a recording studio site with "artist" section and your mp3 player is for me fantastic!
There are some problems to set colors (they are declared in RGB mode and don't respond all to my setup) but the player remain more good.
There is only one thing that I can't do: I don't find the paraters setup to position the player in my page. It is ever positioned to the center of the page.
Peraps i'm a stupid man but could you say to me where is the parameters.

Hi found that the embed code is not working. However When the URL is amended it works fine from:

This is just showing the raw player... now the qiestion is what string do i have to edit to remove the junk code.?

This is a great player... but I'm trying to use it to play content hosted on a CDN, and I am getting errors:

"... A policy file is required, but the checkPolicyFile flag was not set when this media was loaded.
at flash.media::SoundMixer$/computeSpectrum()
at com.vuzum.player::Player/createVisualizerEffect()"

Is this something that could be fixed?

after i switch to external swf then i go back to the background music i can't hear it's music anymore....! what can i do?

I want to use the Flash Mp3 Player but i have a problem there, the links what i want to paste in the xml are from an other website, so i must to paste link like http://flabell.com/sample.mp3. but if i do this the mp3 player cant find my music and it will not play the music. Can u plz help to correct this? ( sorry for my bad englisch )

That embed script doesn't work on twitter. I need to be able to have the music player show in the twitter timeline. If that's something that's guaranteed you can do I'll pay the $5, i'm not paying to find out you can't.

I like the work you guys do, you have some really nice stuff, but if it doesn't have viral components it's just useless and will be replaced soon as I find one with viral components. Same with your video player. I would be great if you could stream live with it. Guess I'll check back in a few.

I really like this player. If you have half a brain, and can read, it's easy to install and customize. Those of you having problems just getting it to work need to RTFM before whining here.

That said, this player is practically useless until the cpu spiking issue is corrected. It runs at 95-100% with the player just sitting there doing nothing. Totally unacceptable. I would never dream of subjecting my site's visitors to such a performance hit on their machines.

I'm going to keep an eye on this forum, and see if there is an improvement in the new version, but until then, I won't be using this player.

This is a great player! Thanks! I'm trying to use it within a flash site that I'm building. I saw that you said in the FAQs that you would "provide a video tutorial, and instructions in the downloadable files explaining step by step how you can use this swf file in another fla," but I'm not seeing any tutorial or info on this. Could you point me to that tutorial? Or if it doesn't exist, could you give some info on this? Since the xml and a lot of other aspects of the player are called in the html, how would I switch it to call them within the swf? Thanks!

OK i just set this up on a web site and i am really liking it. wasn't to hard to customize, just had to play around with it for a bit. But i seem to be having a problem with the download buttons. when ever i click on one it opens another page and try's to play the mp3 with another player like windows media or quick time instead of saving it to my hard drive. Is this a bug or just something with my 2 pc's?

I have your flash player running on my website www.audiourl.com.

As per your implementation of the Flash player, the songs can be played in flash player if and only if the songs are hosted in Songs folder (.mp3) format in the server.

Now my question is: Can I play the songs in the flash player by just providing a link to the respective songs which are hosted in another server(For example from BeeMp3.com).

Another Question is: Can I add a search button in my flash player so that viewers can search for the song.

Please help me.

Yes, it does. You'll need to upload it to your website though, end embed it like any swf file, but make sure you pass the appropriate XML and content to it.

How do I make the new AS3 version work with just a single album? I don't want to have multiple albums listed at once, just have it load a single album and start playing immediately. The older version worked great for this, but I could not figure out how to configure the latest version to work in this fashion.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also, I had edited some of the source code of the AS2 version of the player and noticed that the published size was almost 3 times bigger than the original player.swf size. I am using Flash CS5 and have compression enabled so I am curious why the republished version is 3x bigger. Any thoughts on how to bring this size down to match the original? What did you use to publish it?

To make the player start with a specific album go inside the "mp3gallery.xml" inside the next tab and write the attribute value:

```
The new AS3 version is programed in a different method. In the as2 version everything was created by code but here we have the design on the stage. That could be the reason why. But I checked and the new AS3 version is 131 KB and the old AS2 was 250 KB. So I don't know why you are saying is 3 times bigger.

That's because they probably don't allow flash to load them, through the way they set the crossdomain.xml file.

So you need to make sure the crossdomain is set to allow your domain as well.

I just tested it worked fine. But when I put other songs in the songs folder. it does not played the other songs. error was " The sound could not be loaded" All other uploaded songs are in mp3.
It was like a playlist for player. so it can play continuously.
Please tell the solution for the problem.
Is there any limitation on the number of songs in the songs folder.

Sorry for the late reply.

You'll just have to generate different XML files for each page, if you want to open certain albums, depending on what your users will click.

There are more elegant ways to do this, but we didn't plan this player for this use case.

sorry i meant to say i get no sound i only get sound from the default sound with busta rhymes and the first song i put on the player but when i try to put a new songs it doesnt play in the player and im doing the same process as i did the first song that worked out good but all the other tracks dont work with other songs but if i add the same track i have in track one to all the tracks it works fine i dont get it please help i uploaded the songs to my website same as i did the first songs but it doesnt work no more help please

The problem is that the song you specified in the mp3gallery.xml file are not at the path you wrote. The shut it down song should be here:

as you set this path in the XML file:

The song paths are built using concatenation with pathToFiles flashvar. So they'll be pathToFiles+pathToTheSong. Make sure you get the correct path to the song.

Please download the latest version of the player too. We made some updates to the player recently.

If it gives you more trouble, please buy a support ticket and we'll take a look at the problem.

thanks but the first song I used was set like this content/songs/pokerface1.mp3 and it works perfect .. and my music is all in that location my music is not in the mp3 gallery using dreamweaver i took the content folder out cause i couldnt get the player to work with the content folder in the mp3gallery folder so all of my music is located here content/songs/pokerface1.mp3 and that poker face song worked perfect i dont get why it worked for that but not for the rest i will buy a ticket but can you atleast please tell me how the first song pokerface works on the site but shut it down doesnt do i also tryed like this as u said http://www.djlushworldwide.com/mp3gall...content/songs/pokerface1.mp3 doesnt work but i new it wasnt cause the songs are in the content folder please help one more time if you can

I read in this post something about getting autostarted a specific album with "" in "mp3gallery.xml".
Can you tell me where exactly it should be placed - it said "inside the next tab" but I can't see any next tab in the xml file

There are loop and shuffle buttons on the player - but I could not find any mention of these in the xml file - can I control them with the xml file to make the loop enabled when starting the player ?

The flash player does not have a security measure implemented so it can't protect your mp3 files. Even with a simple browser and some simple and popular web developer tools you can find where the mp3 files are located.

Securing them would require implementing complex and expensive solutions, which might not even fully protect the files.
