Shortcodes in our themes

Our themes, even they’re free or commercial, usually include some shortcodes to make a blogger’s life easier.

Below is a list of shortcodes we use at the moment:

[youtube]

Youtube shortcode will embed an youtube video in your post without having to write any HTML code.

Parameters:

src – the youtube movie URL (required)

width – video width (optional)

height – video height (optional)

Usage example:

[youtube src=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcnouuukr0g width=640 heigh=385]

[vimeo]

The [vimeo] shortcode is similar to the Youtube one. Has the same parameters.

Usage example:

[vimeo src=http://vimeo.com/13616392 width=640 height=385]

[@twitter]

This will help you easily post a link to a user profile. Just put in your post [@username] and will display a link to that twitter account.

Usage example:

[@themesbell]

[slidegallery]

This will display a sliding gallery with the images in your post’s media gallery. View sliding gallery demo.

It has parameter “show” that let’s you control how many images to display per slide.  Default value is 6.

Usage example:

[slidegallery show=9]
